Jeph Wright
owner / master stylist With his own unique and personal style, he has given many people a new outlook on what it means to be a hair-stylist. Jeph can take a vision and bring it to life by capturing the beauty of each individual he works with. Most importantly, it is a job that encompasses staying true to yourself as well as your clients. With 21+ years of experience in hair styling and design, Jeph has traveled the globe training with and learning from some of the world's finest hair designers such as Bob Racine, Philip Willson, Angelo Labriollo and Paul Yacomine. Throughout 2007-2008 Jeph worked closely with Kemon as the National Head Coach and North American Creative Director. He spent two years between Europe and North America where he developed new and innovative ideas and techniques that have become a staple in his arsenal of talent. Jeph takes pride in his work. He knows that BLACK will be a salon where there will be a devotion to total customer care. His entrepreneurial spirit and passion for this business have now allowed his dream to finally become his reality. Jeph is not your average hair-dresser. Aside from his Dreadlocks and tattoos, he has a bachelor’s degree in plastics engineering technology and takes pride in building custom motorcycles. Being a hair-stylist gives him the opportunity to express his imagination and creativity. Being an engineer, allows him to do this with extreme precision.
Layla Panoussi
Layla is a driven young stylist with a deep love for the art of cutting and coloring hair. She approaches every appointment as an opportunity for her to grow, create, and help guests feel confident and beautiful. Layla brings passion, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to learning into the salon every day, staying inspired by new techniques, trends, and the individuality of each person who sits in her chair. Whether you’re looking for a fresh cut, a subtle color refresh, or a bold transformation, Layla is excited to work with you and bring your vision to life. A recent graduate from the Paul Mitchell Institute, Layla works in the salon each day directly assisting Melissa and Jeph in providing an unforgettable customer experience for each guest that visits the salon. Layla will be finishing her apprenticeship program at the Salon over the next six months and we will be accepting clients of her own this fall.
Melissa Menzo
Melissa brings both dedication and expertise to every guest in her chair. She specializes in balayage and blonde services, with a strong focus on creating customized, dimensional color that enhances each client’s natural beauty and lifestyle. Melissa began her cosmetology education while still in high school, giving her an early start in the industry and a strong technical foundation from day one. That head start has allowed Melissa to build years of hands-on experience, refine her skills, and stay current with modern techniques and trends. She is passionate about delivering high-quality results, maintaining the integrity of the hair, and creating a welcoming, professional experience for every client. Melissa has worked side-by-side as Jeph’s apprentice for the last five years. Because of this intense, hands-on training, she provides a cost-effective and fresh approach alternative to styles and colors once design designed by Jeph.
